Show Rules



1. Submissions will accepted unil February 3, 2023.

2. Only video links will be permitted. Please upload your video to a cloud server (i.e. Google drive, drop box, etc.) or YouTube and submit the URL link. This does not include TikTok or Instagram videos. These videos cannot not be accepted.

2a. Any video link submitted from a cloud server like drop box or Google Drive must be a public link meaning we don't have to ask for permission to view it. If we have to ask for permission, the submission will not be accepted. To see how to make a link shareable, see this video.

3. A Home Haunter is defined as any person(s) decorating their personal or relatives home for Halloween, either for a party, display, or walk-through, with or without scares.

4. Home Haunters cannot win in the same category in consecutive years. They can enter different categories however.

5. Any not-for-profit home haunter may enter. You can accept money or items for a charitable donation, however you cannot make money off your haunt to be considered not-for-profit

6. Entries for the props category must be home made either from new material or utilizing new/old props and improving/refurbishing them.

7. URL links to a Facebook Page account will not be accepted. Neither will TikTok or Instagram videos. Again, only video links from a cloud drive or YouTube will be accepted.

8. Entries must be from home haunter’s personal props/property from the 2023 haunt season.

9. Contestants do not have to be a member of Halloween Yard Haunts and Props, but please consider joining.

10. We shouldn't have to say it, but we will. Any props or haunts depecting nudity or graphic violence in any way will not be accepted.

11. Contestants can submit multiple entries to the same category as well as submit in multiple categories.

12. All submissions received could be used in current and future promotional campaigns.

13. Entries for the “Hauntcycled” category will be comprised of items not normally used for Halloween decorations, but have been hauntcycled into a prop. If entering the “Hauntcycled” category, please make sure to describe how the prop was made and what it is made from.

14. Entries for best use of digital display must only emphasize the digital display portion of the haunt to be considered. Any video submitted with full haunt, not focusing on the display portion, may not be accepted.

15. Any submission utilizing a drop box or cloud upload will be uploaded to our HHAwards YouTube page, but made unlisted. This is so judges won't have to have a video shared with them in order to be viewed.
